In two weeks Lovable shipped live voice conversations with GPT Live, made Chat free for everyone, switched builds to the faster Opus 5.5, added GPT-6 Sol and Luna for app AI features, and launched a Microsoft tenant integration. For most builders the practical wins are free Chat for planning, faster builds that burn fewer credits, and voice features you can now add to your own apps.
Lovable's changelog between September 18 and October 1, 2026 reads like a roadmap for a whole year. Voice conversations, a free chat product, two new model families, enterprise security controls and a Microsoft partnership. Below is what shipped, in order of how much it changes your daily work, not in order of press releases.
GPT Live: your app can now talk
The headline feature of October 1 is GPT Live. You can add live voice conversations to your app's AI features: people talk with your app, interrupt it, and the app acts on what they say. You describe the conversation you want, a voice tutor, a spoken assistant, a booking line, and Lovable sets it up. Live voice works in apps that use TanStack Start and spends credits.
This matters because voice was the last interface you still had to wire up by hand. If you have been following our AI agent blueprints, a voice front end turns several of them into complete products: the receptionist agent, the interview screener and the booking assistant all become phone-ready without a telephony vendor.
Chat with Lovable is now free
Since September 24 you can chat with Lovable for free, without starting a build. Ask it which idea is worth building, have it turn customer feedback into a plan, or let it read your existing app and suggest improvements. When you are ready, you confirm and the conversation turns into changes to the app.
The practical effect: the expensive part, building, now starts only after the thinking is done. Use free Chat to pressure-test an idea, then spend credits on the version that survived. Our prompt library has a section on planning prompts that pairs well with this workflow.
Opus 5.5 for builds, GPT-6 Sol and Luna for your apps
Two model stories landed in the same week. On September 22 Lovable switched builds to Opus 5.5, which finishes the same work in a third to half fewer steps than Opus 5 with no drop in quality. Fewer steps means shorter waits on long edits and fewer credits burned on verification loops.
On September 25 your app's own AI features got two new OpenAI models, GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna. Both accept text and image input and respond with text. You ask Lovable to use either model in your app, or describe what you want and let it pick. GPT-6 Sol scores 6 to 12 percent higher than GPT-5.6 Sol on Lovable's 0-to-1 building benchmark, with the biggest gains in following your brief and design fundamentals.

Security and enterprise updates
Three quieter updates matter if you run Lovable in a company. Enterprise workspaces can now keep AI processing in the EU: model requests run on European providers both while you build and inside your published apps, at the cost of some models being unavailable and higher credit usage. Business and Enterprise plans can restrict a workspace API key to an allowlist of IP addresses. And you can rotate your Cloud database password directly from chat, Lovable applies the new password without showing it and your app keeps working.
Separately, Lovable's security team found a vulnerability in TanStack Start (CVE-2026-102989), reported it to the maintainers and protected hosted apps with firewall rules while the fix was prepared. If your app runs on Lovable, you were covered before the CVE was public.
Connectors, Microsoft and the Sutro acquisition
The connector catalog grew fast: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Looker on September 23, Discord and Google Business Profile on September 25. On September 28 Lovable announced a Microsoft integration so the apps your team builds run inside your company's Microsoft tenant with Entra sign-in and IT controls. And on September 18 Lovable acquired Sutro, a team focused on making software easier to explain, which points at better automatic documentation for the apps you build.

FAQ
Is GPT Live voice available on every plan?
Live voice works in apps that use TanStack Start and spends credits, so any plan with credits can use it. The free tier credits are enough to prototype a voice feature, not to run one at scale.
Does free Chat mean Lovable is free now?
No. Chatting and planning are free. Building, publishing and running AI features still spend credits.
Do I need to change anything to get Opus 5.5?
No. Builds use Opus 5.5 automatically since September 22, 2026.
Should I switch my app's AI features to GPT-6 Sol or Luna?
Test on one feature first. Sol scores higher on intent alignment and design in Lovable's benchmarks, but compare outputs on your own data before rolling out.
What does the Microsoft integration mean for a solo founder?
Nothing yet. It targets companies running employee-built apps inside a Microsoft tenant with Entra sign-in.
