TL;DR

I built 3 micro-products over a weekend using Lovable, a tip calculator for restaurants, a social media bio generator, and a mini invoice tool. Total revenue after 2 weeks: $142. Here's exactly what worked and what didn't.

The challenge

Can you actually make money with Lovable? Not "build a startup" money, just $100. Enough to prove it's possible. I gave myself 48 hours to find out.

Product #1: TipCalc Pro ($47)

A beautiful tip calculator for restaurant workers. Splits bills, calculates tips by percentage, and tracks daily earnings. I built it in 3 hours and listed it on Gumroad for $4.99 as a downloadable PWA.

Result: 9 sales in 2 weeks = $47 (after Gumroad fees). Not bad for 3 hours of work.

Product #2: BioForge ($68)

An AI-powered social media bio generator. Pick your platform, describe yourself, and get 5 polished bios. Integrated OpenAI's API for generation. Built in 6 hours, hosted on Vercel, and charged $2.99 per generation pack.

Result: 23 purchases = $68. This was the most successful product, turns out people hate writing bios.

Product #3: QuickInvoice ($27)

A dead-simple invoice generator for freelancers. Fill in the details, get a PDF. No signup required. I monetized with a "remove watermark" upgrade for $3.99.

Result: 7 upgrades = $27. Lower than expected, but the free version got 200+ uses, which validates the idea for a bigger play.

What I learned

  • Small is beautiful. Micro-products can generate real revenue with minimal effort.
  • Distribution matters more than the product. BioForge won because I posted it in 3 Facebook groups with my target audience.
  • Lovable handles the hard parts. Auth, payments, API integrations: all done through prompts.
  • Speed is the real advantage. I could test 3 ideas in the time it'd take to set up a React project manually.

Final tally

Total revenue: $142. Challenge crushed. And all three products are still earning passively.
